Ask ten people in McKinney where to get the best pizza and you’ll get ten answers. Ours is simple: pizza is only as good as the dough, the sauce and the care that goes into it. Since 2008, Durkin’s Pizza has been making pies the same way – by hand, to order – from our kitchen on the northeast corner of Custer Road and State Highway 121 in West McKinney. Here’s what goes into every one, and how to get the most out of a visit.
Dough Made Fresh Every Day
Every Durkin’s pizza starts with dough we make fresh daily from unbleached, unbromated high-gluten flour – no chemical whitening and no potassium bromate, just a clean flour that bakes up with great chew. It’s hand-tossed, not pressed, so you get a crust that’s crisp on the bottom with a soft, airy edge. We top it with our own house pizza sauce and real mozzarella, and nothing goes in the oven until you order it.
Sizes That Actually Feed You
We keep it simple: a 10” small, a 14” medium and a 16” large. Our medium is about the size of most chain pizzerias’ large, which is why families from Craig Ranch and Stonebridge Ranch tend to order one less pie than they planned. The small is the perfect lunch for one.
Build Your Own, or Let Us Build It
Choose from 20 regular toppings – Italian sausage, Canadian bacon, pepperoni, fresh mushrooms, roasted red peppers, artichokes, feta, jalapeños and more – plus premium picks like bacon, chorizo, chicken and meatballs. Or go with one of our specialty pizzas:
- Kitchen Sink – pepperoni, hamburger, Italian sausage, green peppers, red onions and black olives
- Chorizo Supreme – spicy chorizo, red peppers, red onions, mushrooms, jalapeños, four cheeses and cilantro
- BBQ Chicken and Buffalo Chicken – marinated chicken with tangy BBQ or medium-hot buffalo sauce
- Four Cheese, Meat and Veggie – the classics, done right
- The Alfredo – swap the red sauce for a creamy Alfredo base on any pizza

Something You Won’t Find at the Chains: Indian Tikka Pizza
Our Indian specialty pizzas have become a local favorite. The Paneer Tikka (vegetarian) and Chicken Tikka pizzas layer marinated, cubed paneer or chicken in a spiced masala gravy with mozzarella, red onion and fresh cilantro. If you’ve only ever had pepperoni, this is the one to try next.
Gluten-Free and Lighter Options
Everyone at the table should get a great pizza. We offer 10” gluten-free crusts made with rice flour or ancient grains, plus a cauliflower crust, and any of them can be topped like a regular pie. Pair one with a half-size Arugula, Greek or Spinach salad for a lighter meal.
More Than Pizza
Round out the order with baked bone-in chicken wings in six sauces (the Gochujang has a following), Durkin’s famous cheesy bread, spaghetti with meat sauce, fettuccine Alfredo, a P.T.S. (Pizza Topping Sandwich), a calzone or a meatball sub. Save room for dessert: cinnamon ugly bread, marshmallow messy bread and three kinds of cheesecake. Grab a cold beer with dinner when you dine in.
Weekday Lunch Specials
Working along the SH 121 corridor? Our lunch specials run Monday through Friday from 11 AM to 4 PM – a small cheese pizza, the P.T.S. or a meatball sub, made fresh and ready fast.
